Corcoran Window Furnishings was founded in 1976 by Nuala and Gerry Corcoran. Starting from humble beginnings, and through hard work and dedication, the company has evolved into a national wholesale company providing retailers, designers and architects with all their window furnishing needs. It is an important partnership we have with our customers, often working together on specifications and technical advice to ensure the best results for everyone.

In the early 2000’s, they were the first company to introduce the Roman blind kit to the Irish market, single-handedly transforming how windows were covered. Over the last 25 years, this company have continued to develop and adapt their designs and specifications to ensure they are bringing the customer the latest styles and technologies at a competitive price.

In 2021, Madeleine, a qualified Interior Architect, stepped into her parent’s shoes and started managing the company as CEO. Now, in 2024, Corcoran Window Furnishings continue to bring the customer a specialised service in all aspects of curtain tracks and Roman blind kits.

“The big shift that we are seeing now is that everything is becoming motorised, and the more popular motorisation becomes, the more affordable it is. Your window furnishings can be motorised using battery or electricity and there is huge versatility on how you can operate your window furnishings, with remote control, through your phone or even connected to Alexa or Google Home, the technology is there,” said Madeleine Corcoran.

Corcoran Window Furnishings are currently leading the way on sustainability with their window furnishings range, ‘CIRCLE’. Not only are the raw components of the product environmentally friendly but the extensive range of motorised options allow the homeowner to control the temperature within the home with more accuracy resulting in a more efficient and secure home.

“Sustainability is something that we are very passionate about at Corcoran Window Furnishings. We are always looking at ways we can improve our range to have less of an impact on the environment while also offering all the latest trends and technologies to our customers. We have expanded our ‘CIRCLE’ range providing green fabrics and curtain tracks as well as improving on our distribution, recycling and packaging to ensure we are limiting our carbon footprint where we can. It is very important to us to be part of the EU’s Circular Economy and do our bit.

In terms of advice Madeleine would offer to the customer when contemplating window furnishing?

“It is important to start considering your window furnishings as early in the design process as possible. Often to achieve some of the modern finishes we require today, for example recess tracks or motorisation, early intervention is required, so I would always advise having the discussion on window furnishings at the start of your project!,” added Ms Corcoran.
