Cullen Builders carrying on family traditions…

Story Highlights
  • "Our emphasis is on quality work and doing it right, every time.”
  • ”I love the whole build process but seeing my customer’s reaction, when handing over the finished project is by far the best time of any build.“

Cullen Builders is a construction company specialising in new builds, renovations and garden rooms.

“My Father was and still is working in the building industry. I worked with him from an early age, and then trained as an Aircraft Maintenance Technician.

After a number of years with Aer Lingus, I took a leave of absence to set up Cullen Builders and we will be 30 years in business in 2024.

We have earned a reputation for producing quality work and we specialise in one off houses and garden rooms,” explained Derry Cullen.

“Our emphasis is on quality and attention to detail. Our business responds to customer needs at a particular time.

Not long ago, no one needed a garden room but then the pandemic arrived and working from home became normal, now garden rooms are a big part of what we do.

“Making the structural components in-house allows us to customise our rooms and offices to any garden shape while remaining competitively priced.

We assemble on-site, offering a range of finishes, and depending on budget, A Rated rooms are achievable.

“A solid business is built on good relationships with Customers and I like to include the customer in the decision making process from the start, as after all, it is their project, I’m just joining the dots together and making their vision a reality.

I love the whole build process but seeing my customer’s reaction, when handing over the finished project is by far the best time of any build.

“My Team, most of whom have been with me since the beginning, are also cognisant of the fact that although we do this job every day, my customers who may have one or possibly two of their own building projects during a lifetime, find it a highly stressful experience, so I make sure to explain to them all that will happen before, during and after the build,” concluded Derry.
