“I hate countertops that are cluttered and I think the only things that should be on a countertop are the essential items such as a kettle and a toaster. I worked in the banking industry for years and despite really enjoying dealing with people, I didn’t like the paperwork! I loved filing and then I decided to bite the bullet and set up my own business after studying a Feng Shui course,’’ explained Karen Fagan.

I love seeing the before and after results and I love seeing the clients’ faces afterwards. I get great satisfaction out of cleaning and decluttering, it doesn’t even feel like a job to me and the time just flies!

“A lot of people think that decluttering and organising is only for homes but we have often organised and decluttered salon store rooms whilst trying to put systems in place which make it more accessible for staff to find products.

I also have a few clients who don’t have time to prepare outfits and pack for going on holidays, which has become a recent request and I absolutely love doing that!

“Doing what I do gives me more enthusiasm to go home and clean my own house. Going forward with the business, I would love to take on another member of staff with the same love for what I do. I have two daughters and they have the bug! They will come out to work with me and they love it.

Give my youngest daughter a kitchen press and a roll of bubble wrap when people are moving house and she’s happy,’’ enthused Ms Fagan.
