Luxaflex® continues to flourish in the blinds industry

Aoife O'Brien of Luxaflex® talks to Build & Renovate

Story Highlights
  • "There is an increase in motorisation of blinds."
  • "We have noticed a change from popular greys to more neutral toned fabrics in the last year."

Luxaflex® is known for their attention to detail, innovative design, and exclusive made to measure products that bring homes to life. This is what lead to them becoming the largest blinds manufacturer in Ireland.

Luxaflex® boasts beautifully curated collections, designed to inspire. Their blinds are hand crafted with style and are made to measure in their facility in Newcastle, County Dublin.

Their collection of products, fabrics and colours is unsurpassed. Light control, privacy, energy efficiency and UV protection are just some of the benefits that they build into their products to make everyday living more comfortable and enjoyable.

There is an increase in motorised blinds as everyone is moving more and more towards the smart home. Our system is called Home Connection™ motorisation. Often at the design stage blinds can be overlooked which shouldn’t be the case as they are an important detail once your home is finished, said Aoife O’Brien.

“Whether you are building, extending, or renovating your home, we would always recommend planning for motorised blinds especially for large or hard to reach windows. Ensure to speak to your electrician about installing appropriate wiring at an early stage.

“Alternatively, battery operated blinds are another option, this is often a more affordable choice as there is no need for electrical fees. Luxaflex® battery operated blinds will need to be charged every six months on average,” enthused Ms O’Brien.

“Both motorised options can be operated using a remote or in conjunction with our Home Hub, you can download the app and operate your blinds from your phone! You can also create schedules for when your blinds open and so forth, connect with Siri, Alexa and much more. Most of our products can be motorised.’’

“In terms of fabrics, we have noticed a change from popular greys to more neutral toned fabrics in the last year,” she enthused.

When it comes to the future of Luxaflex®?

“We’re feeling very positive about the future. We’re constantly upskilling and creating new and innovative ways to control light in the home. We always keep in touch with the latest interior trends and we like to cater for all styles,’concluded Aoife O’Brien.
