READYDOOR is going to take the door world by storm!

Mark O’Brien of READYDOOR talks to Build & Renovate

Story Highlights
  • “We have just put our first delivery of our product into Chadwicks.”
  • “With the machining of our product, customers can hang the door any way they want.”

Greywood Carpentry is a medium sized business that has, at present, 20 full time employees. They are based in North Co. Wicklow and service all of Dublin / Wicklow and surrounding areas. They have been in business for more than 14 years and they primarily do carpentry / joinery works in both the commercial and domestic sectors from their workshop in Rathnew, Wicklow.

READYDOOR,” has flourished from Greywood Carpentry. The READYDOOR is now in the first phase and we have just launched the flatpack door frame kit. My business partner Nigel and I know our stuff when it comes to fitting doors as Greywood Carpentry would have fitted between 2,000 to 3,000 doors annually on signature projects around Dublin,’’ said Mark O’Brien.

“We have designed and patented an adjustable door frame kit. The raw materials for our product are locally sourced. All design, manufacturing & packaging happens in our workshop, giving us full control over quality.

The kit comes with adjustable door frame, liners, doorstop, hinges, lock, all required fixings and adjustable metal packers.

“If you buy 10 of these frames for your house, the first frame will take approximately 30 minutes to assemble and fit.

The balance of the door frames should take approximately 15 minutes each once you have familiarised yourself with the workings.

When you have fitted the frame, all machining for receiver, hinges & holes for fixings is complete and the frame, doorstop & liner are primed for painting.

The head on the door can be adjusted to any size door in general building regulations and the width of the frame can be adjusted to suit 4¼” or 5¼” opes.

“Minimal tools, effort & time are required to install this door frame. With the machining of our product, customers can hang the door any way they want. The door can be hung in any four directions and there is no other frame on the market that can do this,’’ added Mark O’Brien.

“We have just put our first delivery of our product into Chadwicks. We want this product to be sold in all DIY outlets and all general builders providers nationwide. We have put a lot of time and love into this product and we know it works.

Nigel and I have worked as carpenters since we were teenagers and we have hung more doors than people have opened and closed,’’ imparted Mr O’Brien.

“The second phase of this product will be launched in the coming months.”
