Sam Nolan of SN Blinds talks to Build & Renovate

We supply quality products at affordable prices.

Story Highlights
  • “We will look after our customers forever, if they call us back after five or six years where a mechanism has broken; we will go out and fix it, we stand by our work.”
  • “We also want to establish more rolling contracts with companies particularly in the commercial market.”

SN Blinds is an Irish based company with more than 20 years experience in the industry. This company supplies, fits and maintains all styles of window blinds, curtains, shutters and awnings. The team carries out work in residential home spaces as well as commercial offices spaces. Their primary aim is to offer a quality product and service at a fraction of the cost in comparison to their competitors. They also offer a guarantee with all of their work.

“We are a small/ medium enterprise and we focus on residential and commercial properties. We like to work personally with our customers, we call out and do a survey as well as supplying and fitting our blinds. The business is really busy at the moment, we refreshed the business six years ago. We do all styles of window blinds, shutters, curtains and awnings,’’ said Sam Nolan.

“We supply quality products at affordable prices. All of our work comes with a minimum one year guarantee with our roller blinds and up to seven years with our awnings and pergolas. Our primary aim is to make sure that the customer is happy. We get our products from the best suppliers and we are constantly getting the best products and mechanisms so that we can supply our customers with the best products.

“All of our fitters have been doing this for 20 years and I can send them out to any job and the job will be done perfectly. Customers can either visit our showroom, offer them advice and they can take a look at the sample books or we can call out to their house and survey the property with our sample books. Although we are based in Ballymount, we work all over Ireland,’’ he enthused.

“We are trying to push our awnings and pergolas at the moment as customers think that they are very expensive but our pergolas will last forever in comparison to other brands.

“At the moment, our biggest seller is motorised blinds as they are relatively inexpensive. A standard motor will cost approximately an extra €130 per blind. We also do a home hub for our blinds which is an app that can be operated from anywhere in the world through your phone. The blinds can also be voice activated and put on timers. We also give a three year guarantee on the motors that we use. We will look after our customers forever, if they call us back after five or six years where a mechanism has broken; we will go out and fix it, we stand by our work,’’ continued Mr Nolan.

SN Blinds has also recently been involved with DIY SOS: The Big Build.

It was an amazing show to be a part of and we try to get involved in these shows as much as we can basically to get our name out there as well as giving back to people where we can. Last year we sponsored the Dublin GAA calendar and this year we are sponsoring the 25th anniversary for An Garda Síochana and we also sponsored Darkness into Light for Pieta House. We try to do as much sponsorship as we can.

In terms of the short term future for SN Blinds?
“I would like to expand the business with a couple more members of staff so that we can take more work on. Every year, there are constantly new products coming out so we will review the products and take them on board and make the customers aware of them. We also want to establish more rolling contracts with companies particularly in the commercial market,’’ concluded Sam Nolan.
