SC Air Tightness and Ventilation: Over 15 Years of Expertise

For over 15 years, SC Air Tightness and Ventilation has been delivering a wide range of professional services to clients and companies nationwide. Renowned for their extensive knowledge in ventilation, construction, and surveying, their team collaborates to offer a comprehensive array of skills and experience, ensuring your project is completed smoothly from initial design to final completion.

“Our Energy Consultancy team works on new dwellings and commercial buildings. We independently advise and provide specifications to various clients, ensuring compliance with regulations from the initial concept,” explained Sean Coyle. “We offer guidance on the building fabric, including insulation and glazing, as well as heating and hot water systems and so forth. Upon project completion, we perform BER Certification, produce Part L reports, and conduct Air Tightness Testing and 3rd Party Ventilation Validation to ensure compliance with Building Regulations.”

Comprehensive Services for Optimal Project Outcomes

SC Air Tightness and Ventilation provides services designed to help you achieve the best results. They guide you through available government grants and incentives, and ensure compliance with the latest Part L and Part F Building Regulations. Their diverse clientele includes homeowners, large construction companies, M&E consultants, architects, engineers, solicitors, auctioneers, and estate agents.

“As the Building Regulations have changed over the years for both new build houses and commercial buildings, the air tightness levels are improving, making buildings more draught-proof and energy-efficient,” noted Sean Coyle. “This improvement impacts ventilation requirements and strategies. While natural ventilation is an option, mechanical heat recovery ventilation and central extract systems have become the preferred choices to ensure compliance with Part F. These mechanical systems enhance occupant comfort by ensuring continuous air changes within buildings. We specialise in sealing new or renovated buildings and installing mechanical ventilation systems that meet our clients’ needs and ensure compliance.”

There are two specialised divisions within the company that offer the following services:
The Energy Consultancy division specialises in BER Certification for New, Existing Dwellings and Non-Domestic Buildings, NSAI Certified Air Tightness Testing, NSAI Certified 3rd Party Ventilation Validation Testing, SITRI Certified Sound Insulation Testing, Part L & F Compliance and Advisory Reports, Thermal Imaging Surveys including Draught Investigation reports.

The On-Site division carry out the installation of air tightness membranes and tapes to residential and commercial buildings. They also install mechanical ventilation systems such as Heat Recovery (MVHR), Demand Control (DCV) and Central Extract (CMEV) ventilation systems. They offer servicing, maintenance and commissioning also.

“We pride ourselves on providing clients with a quality service. Our team is qualified and trained to ensure excellent standards are met and maintained. We are approved installers by all our product manufacturers. Currently, we are working with some of the largest contractors in the country on multiple developments, including Glenveagh Homes, Westin Homes, Shannon Homes, and Loughlynn Developments (Hora Builders). At present, we are working on more than 2,000 dwellings per year, offering a range of the above services with the capacity to increase this number further,” added Sean Coyle
