“We’re in business in 2017 as I decided to go out on my own having worked for a previous flooring company chain. I knew there was a niche in the market as there were so many new builds popping up everywhere and that was the market I wanted to target so basically 95% of our work is new build homes,” said Sean Byrne.

“We go into a shell of a house and transform it from a house to a home. Once the customer comes into the showroom, we go through the full consultation and pick the floors. I then manage the project from there and from the time we get the keys to the house in the morning, the house is fully completed the following day. It is a two day turn around with a six man crew.

Herringbone laminate has come back with a bang and we use a 12 mil AC6 highest abrasion in laminate flooring which can be used in kitchens, utility rooms etc. All of my team are herringbone specialist fitters as we fit so much of this particular floor type. Carpet is 150% creeping back in as well. The most popular setting currently is complete herringbone laminate on the ground floor and then carpets in the bedrooms, stairs and landing in all the same colour, enthused Mr Byrne.

“We use really high grade and fully synthetic carpets which are fully anti-allergenic and they are also bleach cleanable and stain resistant. They are suitable for everyone, especially young families and asthma sufferers.”

When it comes to advice Mr Byrne would offer to potential customers in advance of them purchasing flooring from 5th Avenue Floor Stores?
“Laminate flooring has come on so much in the last number of years so make sure that the floor you are purchasing has the highest abrasion rate and in terms of purchasing carpet make sure it is a fully synthetic carpet. I’m a registered Kronopol agent and I will not fit a laminate floor unless it has the highest abrasion rate as we offer a two year comprehensive warranty of all work carried out by us. We use fully insulated underlays also,” he enthused.

In terms of the future of the business?
“In the very near future I will be setting up 5th Avenue attic conversions and I’m very excited to see what the future holds with that. I want to take over the new build market and when someone buys a property I want my company to be on the tip of everyone’s tongues.
