Transforming Spaces with a Personal Touch

Debbie, the lead designer at Creative Design & Build, brings a wealth of experience and a passion for transformation to every project she undertakes. Originally from London, Debbie studied in Northern Ireland before settling in Cork, where she and her husband established Creative Design & Build. After starting her career working on bar and nightclub projects, the economic downturn led her to pivot. Teaming up with her husband, a skilled carpenter and floor fitter, they launched their family-run business focused on renovation and design.
Creative Design & Build is not your average renovation company. They take a unique, tailored approach to each project, ensuring the highest level of attention to detail by committing to just one project at a time. This commitment to quality and client satisfaction can be seen in a project at Sarsfield GAA club.

The GAA pitch was flooded during Storm Babet in October 2023, and the club needed funds to rebuild it. A proposal was made to turn a function room on the third floor into something to be rented out to help generate funds for the rebuilding. This is where Creative Design & Build came in.

Debbie was brought in to design and renovate the space for Frances Hegarty & Co, an accounting firm in need of a larger office. Over the course of three months, Creative Design & Build transformed the space into a functional and beautiful office space. The project was completed on time, without relying on outside contractors, which ensured a seamless and efficient process. The feedback from the client has been overwhelmingly positive, and the project stands as a testament to the company’s ability to breathe new life into any space.

Looking ahead, Creative Design & Build plans to maintain their one-project-at-a-time approach. They take pride in offering a highly personalised service, where every detail is meticulously planned and executed. “We’re a small business, but we’re mighty,” says Debbie, who thrives on bringing clients’ visions to life. By keeping the business small and personal, Creative Design & Build ensures that each client receives their undivided attention, resulting in projects that are not just completed but perfected.
