Awnings of Ireland: Redefining Outdoor Living

Founded in 2009 by Michael, Awnings of Ireland began as a modest showroom on Dublin’s Baggot Street and has since grown into a nationwide supplier of premium outdoor solutions. With a background in curtains and blinds, Michael recognised a growing demand for quality awnings and expanded into the sector. Today, their Sandyford showroom showcases a wide range of high-end products. “The majority of our work is residential, but we’ve done commercial work for Starbucks and Insomnia Coffee, and Powerscourt, Rathfarnham and Greystones golf clubs.”

The company is the exclusive Irish agent for Markilux Awnings, a renowned German brand, and installs products from Renson, May and Uhlmann, and Glatz. Their portfolio includes Awnings & Pergolas, Parasols & Umbrellas, Retractable Roof Systems, Louvered Roof Systems, Outdoor Heating, and External Blinds. They also work with innovative brands like Pratic for louvered and retractable roofs and Escape for outdoor speakers.

Awnings of Ireland offers solutions that are as practical as they are stylish. In Ireland’s rainy climate, durable outdoor cover is essential, and their systems are built to last. Customers also benefit from a backup service, ensuring long-term satisfaction and peace of mind. “We’re fully insured and all of our fitters are fully trained professionals.” A more recent problem Michael has seen is solar gain: “Modern houses are using more and more glass – this is overheating the interior of the home, but external blinds offered by Markilux and Renson are combatting this problem.”

Looking to the future, Michael aims to collaborate with more premium suppliers, expanding the company’s product range to meet customer demand. “Working with trusted brands has been key to our success, and we plan to grow by building on these relationships,” he explains. With quality, innovation, and exceptional service at its core, Awnings of Ireland is set to continue transforming outdoor spaces across the country.
