“My Father was working in Holland in the 1980’s, he came across Quartz Carpets and he brought the product back to Ireland in 1990. We are now a second generation family run business and have also evolved our product range.
They are seamless products so there are no grout issues or joins, it can be laid completely fluid. It can make an area look bigger and brighter for you also,’’ said Chris Hyland.
“There are a couple of different products in the range that give different looks. The quartz and marble would give a more textured look but yet they are still fully sealed. You could possibly come up with more than 1,000 combinations as it is custom made bespoke flooring.
“You can mix and match the colours, it is entirely up to the homeowner but the majority of people will decide to run with the same colour blend throughout the ground floor of their home, from the front door to the back door as it gives a seamless continuity on the floor.
Some of the products in the range will come in quite comparative or less cost wise than laminate flooring or tiles. The price that we offer is a supply and fit service so it is a one stop shop, he enthused.
When it comes to the future of Natural Stone Carpets?
“We’re extremely confident that the business is going to continue to grow. We are hiring more staff and we’re pushing ahead. We also have a couple of new products in our range; they are the liquid collection which is a polyurethane resin floor that is cast down and it is warm as well as flexible and soft underfoot.
It would be environmentally friendly as they are based on bio-oils. The consumer is quite conscious as to what they are installing in their home.
“The other product is a concrete look collection which is a microcement, it is a finish that can be laid at three milimetres and it mimics the look of concrete floors. If you haven’t got a floor that you can polish to a polished concrete specification, this product can be laid and it will give you a rustic looking edge to the floor.
These floor types would be most suitable for a full retrofit or a new build,’’ concluded Chris Hyland.
