From wrapping walls to buildings, it’s all in a day’s work for Russell!

Russell Altman of Wallart.ie talks to Build & Renovate

Story Highlights
  • "I decided to create my own funky designs of wallpaper and contemporary wall wraps."
  • "No matter what it is whether it is a house, commercial or retail, my aim is to make that boring space more lively and fun to be in and have a new atmosphere."

If you can dream a vision for the walls in your space; then wallart.ie can make it a reality.

Their client list includes companies such as SSE Airtricity, Primark, Aldi, HSE, McDonald’s, RTE, Conor McGregor, Paddy Power, Radio Nova, plus many others that trust their service to deliver the solutions they need.

Wallart.ie’s services specialise in creativity, design, production and then finally installing the materials to suit any wall Inside or Outside.

This company is also the winner of the HP Architectural IPA Awards 2015 & EU Business Irish Enterprise Awards 2020 where they were the winners of the prestige awards for the best wall graphics company in 2020 and has provided their work on several TV shows such as RTE’s Room To Improve & The Design Doctors.

“I was always interested in art and design. Then having worked in my family’s print and design company I started learning how to work with different print machines and make my own prints to cover all the walls. After working in that industry for 15 years, I decided to create my own funky designs of wallpaper and contemporary wall wraps but at a really high standard for domestic as well as commercial and retail spaces,’’ explained Russell Altman.

“I work with premium materials which means my work will be there for a lifetime; plus my installations are seamless. My work will be like new even years down the road.

When I meet a client, they might have an idea in mind but I generally start to spot other areas and surfaces to work with that were not aware was possible. I also do external building and garden wall wraps also that are very effective but tough work to install!

Every day is a different sort of day as I’m always working on different types of projects. I will always give things a bash but if it is something that I know I will have a problem with such as a surface issue, I will explain to the client that it isn’t going to work.

“From the creativity and design element, then proofing as well as site surveys, printed samples, full production and installation 100% in house by me and my team gives our customers assurance that there isn’t going to be a third party involved; this reassures my customers to make things easy along the way to achieve the best results for each project.

“Someone might want to create a themed bedroom or several rooms in their house or office and the most important thing to focus on is how we can make a boring place more appealing to live in.

No matter what it is whether it is a house, commercial or retail, my aim is to make that boring space more lively and fun to be in and have a new atmosphere. I get good results and good feedback and just to see that the client is happy makes me know I am doing the right job! I have great customers all over the country and they refer me for work and ask me back to work on other projects for them which is great.

Recently I’ve been specialising in schools, homes and also as the main provider for The HSE all over Ireland. I like adding a bit of life to all these areas and making it more appealing to work or live in,” concluded Mr Altman.
