“My passion for interiors has been there my whole life! In 2010 I graduated from college with a Bachelor’s degree in interior design. However, my career then took a different direction, and I spent 10 years working as a manager in fashion retail. During the pandemic, like many other people, I revalued my work and family lifestyle. It was a time for a change.

I found myself getting drawn back into the endless possibilities of interior design. Coupled with my slight obsession with the property market, the idea of staging homes felt like a perfect fit.

Stage My Home is a merger of everything I love into one business. Most importantly, it fits my busy family lifestyle perfectly and gets me out of bed in the morning with a smile,” explained Vanya McCarthy.

“There is a significant difference between the interior design element of my business in comparison to the home staging side of it. Although universal in rules, the use of interior design is very personal to whoever will live in the space, as well as how the space works for them.

Home staging targets the audience of potential buyers, so the design has to appeal to more people. Colour schemes are mostly neutral, and the flow of the space is inviting. With home staging, I create a feeling within the property, which helps buyers to connect with the space emotionally.

“We offer everything from a simple consultation to furniture rentals, project management, staging of occupied and vacant homes, interior styling rental properties, and Airbnb.

In other words, if you turn a house upside down and shake it, whatever doesn’t fall we can source and provide, but home staging is looking at the overall presentation of the property, and the most important things as a starting point are the walls, floors, the kitchen and the bathroom(s).

Home staging increases the property’s value, and the owner receives a better return on the investment. It focuses on the positive whilst minimising the negative. Staged properties stand out online and attract more viewers. added Ms McCarthy.
