Many strings to McGourty Electrical Services’ bow!

Story Highlights
  • "Things have slowed down a bit since last year; the work isn't drying up but I think people are being more wary about where and what they are spending money when it comes to their home."
  • "The EV sector is taking a little while to gain momentum as the infrastructure isn't in place for EV."

McGourty Electrical Services, has been providing electrical services to the commercial, industrial and domestic for almost a decade.

Their team is fully qualified and insured. At McGourty Electrical Services, the team service both large domestic projects to corporate and industrial contracts whilst striving to provide professionalism and safety as a top priority when it comes to electrical services.

Their clients include SUIR Engineering, Griffdon Engineering, Brinnin Homes and ESS Modular.

“We’re a full electrical services company that started off doing small domestic work and we worked our way up to doing jobs for ESS Modular including commercial work such as modular buildings, temporary buildings, office buildings and schools.

As well as working in the domestic, commercial and industrial sector, we also do a lot of work with solar pv,” said Dean McGourty.

“The EV sector is taking a little while to gain momentum as the infrastructure isn’t in place for EV. Ireland is struggling for power at the minute and we’re a very outdated country. We’re not really pushing the solar element of the business as when we get big jobs, we’re on site with them for between three to four months. We have done big solar systems for one off houses though.

“I do think if people are installing solar pv in their home, they should definitely hire an Electrician or an electrical company who know what they are doing rather than a solar pv company as they are more interested in making the money and getting the work done than installing the system correctly and having the correct team on site.

I think the CRU should implement that only an Electrician can install these systems rather than someone who has done a two week course on installing pv,” he continued.

In terms of looking towards the future of McGourty Electrical Services? “Things have slowed down a bit since last year; the work isn’t drying up but I think people are being more wary about where and what they are spending money when it comes to their home. People are pricing around as well as seeing if prices begin to decrease,” concluded Mr McGourty.
