A company in the sunny South East that will treat your home like their own!

Rory of Home Works Insulation talks to Build & Renovate

Story Highlights
  • “Retrofitting a house as well as installing new windows and doors is the way to go when it comes to keeping outgoings low.”
  • “With the Government and a big push towards insulation, I’m expecting the next three to five years to be extremely busy in this area.”

Introduced to Spray Foam Insulation seven years ago Home Works Insulation offers 16 years experience in the building and construction sector having worked on various projects. This company takes pride in delivering a product that reflects their high standards and their dedication to the work that they do. The team here also believes that your investment in Home Works Insulation will stand the test of time.

Ultimately this company makes it their mission to collaborate with many builders, architects, designers, home owners and any trade professional who shares their vision, environmental goals and work ethic. Home Works Insulation will treat your home like they treat their own.

They have a variety of insulation to hand including; attic insulation, cavity injection foam, combined underfloor insulation and radon barrier, closed cell foam for sheds, open cell foam and closed cell foam.

We offer a very clean cut, top notch and professional service covering the South East and Munster regions of Ireland,’ explained Rory

“There isn’t a right time or a wrong time when it comes to insulating a house; summer time would probably be the best time to work on an insulation project on your house as home owners are getting ready for the winter time and the cooler months.

Costs are skyrocketing and homeowners are trying to keep their costs down. Retrofitting a house as well as installing new windows and doors is the way to go when it comes to keeping outgoings low.”

Home Works Insulation will also assist any homeowner who may wish to apply for any of the grants made available by the SEAI Home Energy Scheme which provides grants to homeowners who are interested in improving the energy efficiency of their home in order to reduce energy use and costs as well as greenhouse gas emissions.

The scheme is open to all owners of existing houses built before 2011. Grants are claimed after the measures are completed and the contractor has been paid by or entered a financing agreement with the homeowner.

In February of this year, the Government approved a bundle of grant support to make it cheaper and easier for homeowners to undertake home energy upgrades for warmer, healthier, and more comfortable homes, with lower energy bills.

A new National Home Energy Upgrade Scheme providing increased grant levels of up to 50% of the cost of a typical deep retrofit to a B2 BER standard.

One Stop Shops will offer a start-to-finish project management service, including access to financing, for home energy upgrades. Greatly improved grant support under the SEAI Home Energy Grants – Individual Energy Upgrades (e.g Better Energy Homes). This process will continue as is with greatly improved grants, up to 80% of cost of works.

“Supply and demand would be the biggest issues facing us at the moment in terms of trying to get material as well as staff; there isn’t the same incentive there as there was a number of years ago when it comes to young men working on sites or taking on an apprenticeship. There is a shortage of construction works right across the board in Ireland,’’ he added.

As to the future of Home Works Insulation?
“The business is definitely growing gradually, we don’t want to get too big too quickly. With the Government and a big push towards insulation, I’m expecting the next three to five years to be extremely busy in this area. I would like to have a few vans on the road also.

I’m also going to be exhibiting at The Ideal Home Show when it takes place in the RDS in October (Friday, 21st October to Sunday, 23rd October); it is my first time exhibiting at the show. I think it is more personal to meet people in person to help build a relationship as well as put a face to the name as I like talking and meeting people,’’ concluded Rory.
