The hearth of the home is at the forefront of Hestia’s mind

The Hestia Design dream team talk to Build & Renovate about their pandemic born business and plans for the future

Story Highlights
  • Our goal is to make the house a home.
  • We are happy with the way things are progressing.

Hestia is a design studio based in Dundalk, County Louth specialising in Interior Design for both commercial and residential projects, Visual Merchandising and Feng Shui brought to you by design duo Rachel & Sarah.

As a design team they bring a variety of expertise, styles and colourful contemporary designs to each client giving them their own unique design to suit their personality and lifestyle.

Their services include online consultation, commercial design, visual merchandising and Interior design.

Sarah Marry, Co-Owner and Creative Director of Hestia graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Visual Merchandising and Display from Dublin Institute of Technology. With many years working as a Visual Merchandiser for Harry Corry’s head office, Mango, Debenhams flagship store and Arnott’s Selfridges Group.

Sarah loves putting her creative flair to use by designing eye-catching displays alongside her passion for Interior Design. With a strong skill set in Visual Merchandising, Interior Design and a Master in Classical Feng Shui, when combined this creates an amazing retail experience for consumers.

Rachel O’ Hanrahan, Co-Owner and Design Director of Hestia graduated from Huddersfield University in 2003 with a BSc (Hons) in Textile Design, she has worked for Marks & Spencer’s in-house design team for M&S home, as an interior designer for Laura Ashley, and a Visual Merchandiser for high street Oasis clothes store to name a few.

With a passion for colour, fabrics, print design, and interiors. Rachel has worked in Dundalk’s Creative Spark print studio, and an interior design company for a number of years. Sarah and Rachel now run Hestia design studio, Dundalk’s first visual Merchandising company, who also offer their services as master Feng Shui consultants, and Interior Design for both residential and commercial projects.

We are a design duo that started up the business in the middle of the Global Pandemic. Hestia derives from the Greek goddess of the hearth of the home and family, the meaning behind our brand name is very relevant to us and to what we want to achieve with our business, said Rachel O’Hanrahan.

“Our Goal is to make the house a home, as home and family have never been more important to us, as COVID has made us all look at our homes and our workplaces in a different way.

“We’re here to get the best out of the spaces that people already have with our Interior Design offering a full design service from commercial to residential projects” enthused Mrs O’Hanrahan.

“We launched last October and offer a range of services for all Interior Design works, from Planning Permission applications, renovations, full fit outs, one room design schemes, colour consultations, right through to the end of the project where we can style the rooms to deliver the finishing touches. We also provide designs to accommodate home offices in any space, outdoor garden rooms and show homes.

“Sarah and I are also both Classical Feng Shui master consultants, so we bring that element into our design to maximise space and its potential, bringing good energy and balance for any project, be it your home or business.” enthused Rachel.

“A service we offer is 3D render designs, we discuss the brief with a client about what they want from their project, and with the use of 3D render software this allows the client to visualise the space and see how the concept will look upon completion, before they invest in their project and avoid any costly mistakes,” explained Sarah Marry.

“Although we are based in Louth, we also work in the surrounding areas and with our online consultations our services can be accessed nationwide,” enthused Ms Marry.

As to the short term future or some of the goals Sarah & Rachel have in mind for Hestia Design?

“We are happy with the way things are progressing and we are currently working on existing commercial and residential projects alongside a new showhome in the Drogheda region. We would like to build on the clients that we have as well as continuing to deliver amazing design schemes to suit all client’s needs.” concluded Sarah Marry and Rachel O’Hanrahan.
